Noemi’s path to becoming a commissioner in Artificial Intelligence was fueled by her previous participation in EUROMAD simulations. “It only seemed logical and like an opportunity for me to experience different new roles,” she explains. With AI being a key topic across all sectors, she found leading debates on the subject particularly engaging. Her exposure to conferences and discussions about AI organized by her teacher in economics as part of her elective (“DNL SES”) further developed her understanding of the stakes of AI.
Unlike other technological advancements, AI’s impact is everywhere. “I don’t think there was a specific moment, but rather a wave of realization that AI is treated everywhere,” Noemi says. She believes AI is unparalleled in its reach: “Today, you cannot name a single field that is unaffected by AI.”
Comparing AI to past industrial revolutions, Noemi sees it as a big change in jobs and more. “AI is our new industrial revolution. It isn’t just a technological advancement but the advancement that revolutionized the working field.”
